You know what? No one can teach you how to raise a baby. Not even your mom. You just kind of do it, and take advice on board as it presents itself.

One helpful source I found was watching The Baby Whisperer on Discovery Health Canada. Learned all kinds of traps to avoid.

I don't agree that your mom can't teach you. You do learn from how you were raised, so that even if your mother is gone now, but you had her with you as a child, you have a good foundation for being a parent. As far as the practical aspects, like diapering, feeding, etc....you can ask and watch other mothers, your pediatrician, read books, etc.

Listen to your heart...when he's calling for you, listen to your heart, there's nothing else you can do!
