your children

Anything that you believe in passionately if your dying will make a difference. If your death would make no difference then stay alive. You may find that you being alive will be crucial at some time in the future. You may be the one who saves a child who grows up to be the one who saves us all. If you die, he dies. Death is a natural part of life - sounds odd but I can't think of any other way to put it. Death is not the end, it is just a new beginning. By the way I am not some religious nut, this is just what I have come to believe.

Life.

Those things of greater worth than ourselves. This would mean that those we love in that way we value them for who they are not our enjoyment of them. This type of unselfish love is what leads us to be willing to die for another. We should be willing to die for the protection, preservation, and proclamation of truths that are of ultimate value to us. These truths we would believe must be upheld and affirmed even at the cost of our blood as martyrs. If our society is standing for justice and if our deaths are needed to establish or preserve justice then we could be called upon to make such a sacrifice for the sake of virtue. However, if our nation is not standing for justice then we have no moral reason to die for our nation. We will die for that which we value more than life.

nothing, if you die for something, it isn't like you can prevent it from dying and also you dont get to enjoy what you died for b/c ur dead! Some ppl would die for their kids, which is understandable but in reality if you die for them, u dont know if the person going to kill ur kids will live up to their promise, or what ever the situation is, even cancer, since cancer never really goes away. I am not going to have that prob b/c i am not having kids!!....lol....
i'm not a mean person in reality...just saying what i see...

The one and only Christian God is worth dying for.

That is one of the real reasons that Christ offered him to be sacrificed because it was God's plan to see how man would react.

Your beliefs. If someone wanted you to do something that was against what you believe and or is what you consider to be morally unacceptable then it may be worthwhile dying over. If whatever they wanted you to do could tarnish you then it comes to to standards and whether or not you would do anything to stay alive.

Generally we all live to reproduce, and thus our legacy is our DNA in our kids. Most people would die to protect their kids.

Protecting Society in general is another reason. It would be better if we did not have to protect our society, but we do.
