I have loved movies the critics have trashed and hated movies they rave on about. Why would you let someone else dictate what constitutes good entertainment and what doesn't? I think too many people go with the flow of media hype and fail to think for themselves.

a TON of movies... the most recent example I can think of was the first Pirates of the Carribean... anything that's not an arthouse flick, I don't listen to critics about...because they review everything as if it should have been an arthouse flick. It's stupid.

However, I will read the reviews about arthouse flicks.

The critics seemed to pretty much loathe "Zoolander" when it came out. (Ben Stiller / Owen Wilson.)

I love it.

To each his or her own.
