I am trying to get a baby darf rabbit so I can raise it to be a 4-H rabbit I know it sounds mean but I've raised rabbits for a long time but from what I read you need a pure-bread for 4-H. If you are in 4-H do you need a pure-bread with papers or what do you need? Does it have to be a pure-bread? How much do they cost? Please help.

well to start off yes you need a pure bred rabbit.i have been in the 4-h rabbit project for 6 years.the best place to get a rabbit is at a rabbit show.you can go to http://www.arba.net/showinfo.htm to find a rabbbit show near you.there they have a lot of diferent breeds and types of rabbits.make sure you get a show quality one.they can cost anywhere betweeen $20 and $200.and sometime they are even more.make sure you get the rabbits pedigree that goes with it saying it is purebred.if you have any other question just email me privately.i hoope this helps.

you can get pure bred dwarf rabbits from a rescue. I got mine from the house rabbit society. I know she was a purebred because she had a number tattooed in her ear. You don't need papers as long as the rabbit meets the requirements for the breed, at least those are the requirements for the state fair. If you can't find a rescue pet stores have them for about 25-50 dollars.
