Even though it may seem like a nothing job - still give them the two weeks notice. You never know when it might come back and bite you in the butt. Say 5 years from now you are applying for a full time job that you really want - you are shown into the manager and it ends up being the manager that you left in the lurch because you didn't show up for work at Old Navy. Don't burn bridges unless it is absolutely necessary.

Well this job is too short to use as a working reference. If you like your boss and the people you work with then I wouldn't recommend for you to just quit on your last day. It would be more professional to give them your two weeks notice.

Just tell your boss that it isn't working out and that you can't work any longer. Be polite -- if they ask, tell them that you thought you would enjoy working in retail -- but that you do not. If you tell them about school, they may feel that you took advantage of them.
As for when to tell them -- there is a possibility that they will ask you to leave immediately. It is polite to give them advanced warning -- but if you really need the money you may want to wait until a week is left.
Don't worry about the reference. Being there less than a month, you don't even want to put this on your resume.

I have done the same thing you have. You are right in the fact you wouldn't have been hired for just a 3 week stint. Quit.. They have turnaround all the time and won't even remember you a month from now. Not that its a good or bad thing its just the way retail works.

You want to handle it professionally and give two weeks notice. You never know where you may see some of your co-workers again. They might even be across the desk in an interview

haha i used to work at old navy.. if you give a 2 week notice, you can come back to any branch of gap inc. if you just stop showing up, they'll fire you and you can't really come back. just let them know the conditions of your leave. they can't do anything either way.

you should always try to give atleast two weeks notice, that way you can use them as a good reference when you apply for another job. plus it gives them time to look for another candidate.
