I live in the state of Oregon and I was wondering what the best college is

I'm from massachusetts...but I'm some what of a college choosing expert in terms of location, size all that. Reed College is the best college in oregon...academically...but its far left so if thats not you i wouldnt suggest it. U-Oregon has a good business program, but dont go to oreg state---it sucks....University of Portland is an up and coming Catholic School if that floats your boat, with a nice location. Sorry to anyone who lives in Oregon but sadly thats about it.

Depends on what you mean by "best". My best isn't necessarily yours. You probably ought to take a look at the annual US New issue on colleges. Of course, their ratings may not be yours.
For four year colleges, Reed is undoubtedly the tops academically. Linfield is very good. Lewis and Clark, too. Of course, you know that UO and OSU are the big universities.
You might pick up a copy of the paperback "Colleges that Change Lives". It definitely changed my thinking about colleges. If you're trying to decide on a school, it might help you.

My sister goes to Willamette and seems to like the school but she doesn't like Salem (and having spent some time there myself I can see why.) FWIW I'm from California and went to UC Santa Cruz. Unbelieveably scenic, and not too far from home (assuming you can afford out of state tuition...)
