The best way is to find your MacOS 9.2 install CD, boot from it, wipe the hard drive and reinstall the operating system. That's what I always do when selling a computer.

If you don't want to do that, open the preferences folder inside the system folder, and delete anything that has "Explorer" or "Netscape" (or FireFox, or whatever browser you use) in the name. Also delete preferences for any financial software (Quicken, MYOB, etc.), and don't forget to empty the trash. Also delete Internet Preferences.

Then, if you are really paranoid, get an old copy of Norton Utilities and use the "erase" feature that writes junk over all the deleted files, so that they can't be undeleted. Another way of doing something similar is to copy useless files to your hard drive until it is full, then delete them. This applies even if you reinstall the operating system and reformatted the drive.
