Anyone have luck selling furniture on Ebay---what do you do for shipping?

I have not had much luck selling furniture and computers I want to get rid of--tried Craigs and a bunch of other free lists. Someone suggested Ebay---any experience? And if you get someone to buy, how do you ship? Or do you restrict it to locals only?

usually, depending on what it is, it's wise to keep it local since you'll have a better way to unload it. if you want to keep it nationwide, this will sound weird, but Greyhound offers shipping services too for far cheaper than UPS or FedEx. if it can fit in the undercarriage then you're good to go. if you still insist on shipping, go to a furniture website and find something similar in size and see how much they are charging for shipping. that should give you a good estimate for that. we talking chairs and end tables or like full sofas?

I would indicate on your item description that you expect local pickup but will coordinate with someone if they want you to ship it to them. Realize that used furniture and computers aren't generally high-dollar items, and the shipping alone may be more than some are willing to pay.

Depending on where you live, I'd guess you will find someone interested on Ebay. Whether they are willing to pay what you want? Who is to say. Good luck!
