I've been playing a piece of crap acoustic for about five years and i really want an electric guitar. RIght now, I'm looking at an Ibanez artcore am73, but theres an Epiphone Dot Deluxe for about the same price and i cant decide.

Any opinions? good/bad experiences with either guitar?

I used to have an Ibanez Artcore, and I LOVED IT. It wasnt the same but very similar as the one you are interested in, I say GO FOR IT. Hollow bodies are great, they give you the tone and versatility of the eletric guitar while being able to be played without an amp. That was may favorite part. Also, the dual humbucker pickups create a nice warm blusey sound. An awesome guitar. My vote is for the Ibanez

You can't go wrong with the Epiphone, although I'm not really familiar w/ the Ibanez. The Epi Dot is very similar to the Epi Casino, which is the one The Beatles bought three of back in '64.
I hope that helps.
