I know this may seem hypocritical asking this since I am writing this from my computer to all you nameless, and faceless strangers out there - but have we all lost our minds??? Does anyone besides me consider it sad that humans have become so isolated and withdrawn that we are now forming "safe" relationships over the computer instead of facing rejection and embarassment by getting out there and meeting real, raw people? I don't get it. Am i just old fashioned? What happened to community, random encounters, saying hello to people? It seems like we've abandoned most of that and instead we have adopted it's proxy - the cyber relationship with our computer screen.

By the way - I am not meaning to offend anyone, I know you all have lives, and friends and conversations with real, breathing people. It's more of a question of where our society is going. And I know there are the plus sides of an online community, but I can't help feeling an acute sense of unease about the whole thing. From the girls trying to be supermodels/play boy pinups on "myspace", to the guys trying to have cyber s@x with me on aol, it all just seems to forced - like a generic copy of the real thing.

It's not really being crazy, it's more of a state of fear and comfort. Things are so much easier to "meet and greet" without leaving the privacy of your own little corner of the world. However, as time passes on it will be hard for the average person to be comfortable with others, because we are in an age that you can do and get ANY and EVERY thing via your computer. Unfortunately, you don't have to go out and interact with other if you don't want to. Hopefully, there will still be a few of us who enjoy meeting new people to avoid the "Internet experience" of forming friendships and relationships behind the comfort of a computer screen.

They said the same thing about the telephone. I think it's great. We have the ability to get input from people all over the world instantly. I am a friendly person. I say hello to everyone that I meet, and I enjoy spending time with "real" people. But as for exchanging ideas and information I think the internet is wonderful.

No we have not all gone crazy. Some of us have to work for long hours and cannot find time during the week to go out and socialize. The computer is right in front of us at our desk , so why not utilize it when we get a break from work? We socialise and interact on most weekends.

Well, I can't miss work so I have to be here. And I've already met all the people in my office (unfortunately) so talking to you, my sweet dear, is the best alternative I have right now for human contact. But yes, I am crazy. I hear voices :)

I think you are right but i am sitting on computer to answering only for time pass and if somebody needed can get some relief by this answer's .,,not all are crazy but there are certain people on yahoo answer all really crazy by their strange question's only for fun or to hurt peoples .
