I am due to leave the Navy after 9 years next May and I am fearful of not getting a job where I wont struggle. I am an Electronics Technician and worked on submarines, but I was in reality a communications equipment operator/technician. I have a high level security clearance also. However, when I have looked around for available jobs, they all are looking for someone very specific involved in a very specific job with years of experience. I am trainable, hard working and even currently working toward a degree but I do not know how well an employer would think I have potential for a good job. I dont even know where to look exactly. Anyone with previous experience or any thoughts that might help please respond.

You have great skills that many employers are looking for and your military service is an excellent benefit.

First, do a targeted search in the Connecticut area using an online job search engine

Make sure your resume captures all of your skills & qualifications.

Also look into using a headhunter

http://www.bradley-morris.com is a good one and there services are FREE.

Depending on where you will be in CT. PC Connection (computer IT solutions company) might be hiring. www.pcconnection.com
