my sister told me that this girl named makayla wears black eyeliner under her eyes and she puts it on really dark and then my sis told me that she also puts on dark blue eye shadow! and she's onl 10 yrs old!!!!!!

Way too young. She'll end up looking stupid and tacky. And when she gets older, all that crap on her face will have made her look really really old. At 10-11-12, your best bet is to take really good care of your skin (keep it clean), eat healthy and drink lots of water. Lip gloss is totally okay at this age too. Then when you're around 13-14, you can start doing some light natural looking makeup (if you need it). Makeup is so over-rated among girls, most guys think it is lame. Healthy skin and a beautiful smile are a lot prettier! :)

Yes, I think 10 yrs is way too young to be wearing makeup. I won't let my daughter wear makeup at least until 8th grade, and even then she may have restrictions on what and how much she can wear.
I was 13 when I started wearing makeup, and that was about the same age as other girls in my class. I don't wear makeup very often anymore though--sometimes all it takes is a good cleanser and moisturizer to make your face look good.

Yes, way too young. The only girl I knew who wore makeup at the age was an overweight and socially awkward child. I think her mom thought allowing her to wear makeup would make others treat her better or make her prettier. Didn't do either. It just drew more attention to her unusualness.
I think age 12 is a good age to start wearing just a tad bit of makeup and then around 13 or 14 I think girls should be able to wear however much they want.

I would not let my daughter wear anymake up at age 10 but therer is a family at my church whos 12 y/o daughter has been wearing a full fasce of make up since she was 10. I am talking about foundation, lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, and powder. so to each there own right?

I don't know. I was in the 1st grade when I first started wearing makeup. Keep in mind, I didn't wear it to look grown up. I liked to play with the colors and it was something that was fun for me. My mom knew about it and was ok with it because I wasn't trying to look older. And I didn't put makeup on every day. It was an occasional thing. Honestly, it's only been recently that I've been wearing makeup every day (I'm 31). So, I say it all depends on why she's wearing it.

Yes. 10 years old is way too young to start. I didn't wear makeup until I was ohh... 15 years old! (Maybe a small part of that could be because I was a tomboy...)

I agree, it's too young, but if someone has a daughter who is keen on wearing makeup at a young age, there's nothing at all wrong with letting them do so around the house. It's just a great way to allow them to get it out of their system.
My niece was famous for acting like a glorified movie star. She would traipse around the house in whatever she could find to attend her magical red carpet event, and dash herself up in makeup like you have never seen. What a sight it was.
But it was good for her, for once she got older, in her early teens, she appreciated a little makeup, and she was quite the professional already at applying it.

10 years old is absolutely too young for make-up and Makayla's mommy is either nuts or doesn't know she's doing this. A 10 year old face is WAY prettier without anything covering up any part of it :) (Save make-up for when you're old and have wrinkles to cover up... or for when you're doing a play and you're on stage)

yes, 10 years old is way too young to wear make up . At 10 years old the girl is already naturally beautiful but once you hit maturity your face changes and you need a little make up...most girls anyways.

Kinda, in a way! If your around 10 where very pale skin colours or really light pink. Dark colors are for those gothic people. But ask mom or dad first to see if it is ok to wear it.
BUT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT NEVER EVER WEAR DARK COLORED EYE SHADOW
