No question, A-rod will be the better of the two. Over his career he has a great glove, an unbelievable bat, and by the time it is all said and done A-Rod could very well have 780 home runs. Jeter is a good baseball player and will make the hall of fame, but he will not have the numbers. It is unfair to ask this question now as well because A-Rod is slumping. Remember Jeter did this as well before.

I don't think either of them are the "greatest", but I think as of right now, Derek Jeter is playing better than A-Rod.

Neither is "greatest" by far, but of the two Jeter is the better baseball player...
He doesn't have the power or the RBIs, but so far in every other category he's the guy...if you were to ask "Who's the better offensive player or run producer?" then it's A-Rod...but "baseball player" is Jeter in a landslide...

Absolutely Jeter. Mr. Clutch. Regardless if you dislike the Yankees, if you understand anything about baseball, you have to respect Jeter.
LETS GO METS, which by the way right now I would take David Wright over A-Rod too.

although they are the two solid gamers, Jeter has the "snatch" means that almost no one else in baseball possesses. he's nearly like the Robert Horry of baseball. in case you elect something accomplished on the tip of the game; he's who gets it accomplished. All it particularly is opinion. greater importantly than Arod's means to hit 50 homers a season (that's exceptional regardless of steroid use or no longer); he does not have the glove of his fellow SS. Jeter became interior the coolest 5 in fielding share this final season (2009) and anybody knows protection wins championships (that's what absolutely everyone says). Jeter is likewise much less of a headache off the sphere.

Greatest? I would hardly count Jeter or A-Rod as the greatest player. Great, yes, but as for greatest - how about someone like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, or Ted Williams?

Their career stats
A-Rod - BA-305 OB%-385 SLG-573 OPS-958 R-1315 RBI-1298 HR-450 SB-235 CS-60 / Defense(SS)- TCG-4.53 FLD%-.977
Jeter - BA-316 OB%-388 SLG-462 OPS-850 R-1224 RBI-882 HR-175 SB-235 CS-59 / Defense(SS)- TCG-4.18 FLD%-.975
I would have to go with A-Rod as the better of the two...His OPS is 108 points higher and his defense saves 57 hits more than Jeter's over 162 games...
