The Perks of Being a Wallflower - (don't remember the author!)
Please Don't Kill The Freshman - Zoe Trope
Keeping You A Secret - (once again, forgot the author...)
A Walk To Remember - Nicholas Sparks
Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
Sorry, but I'm sixteen and those are the best books I've read - sorry if you're an adult!

Boy,there sure are a lot of fantasy recommendations! I'll add mine: "Elantris" by Brandon Sanderson. This novel is a true oddity--it's a standalone fantasy novel. It's true--no twelve-volume epic to slave over! Moreover, it feels epic.
If you like literary fiction, I'd recommend "The Power Of One" by Bryce Courtenay,a semi-autobiographical novel taking place in South Africa around the time of WWII. I'd also recommend "Shogun" by James Clavell, one of the best works of historical fiction I've ever read.
If you like mysteries I'd recommend anything by Laurie R. King, but specifically her Mary Russell novels, beginning with "The Beekeeper's Apprentice".
