If you live with them, you must follow their rules.

The first problem with your question is the word "necessary". Necessary in terms of what? Necessary to stay alive? I sure hope not. Necessary to avoid getting yelled at? Maybe.

The second problem is that you say "suggestions". A suggestion is not a command. A suggestion may be ignored.

Suggestions are not NECESSARY to be followed, but if Mom says "I suggest you clean your room before you go to the mall", I personally suggest you do it. Phrasing and tone should tell you the difference. No decent parent would ever give their kid a bad or dangerous "suggestion"... remember, they love you!

If you're a minor living with your parents, your responsibility is to follow their suggestions.

They have your best interests in mind. They're older than you, hopefully wiser, more experienced & more educated than you & are trying to help you to grow up healthy, wealthy and wise.

Best wishes to you.

As a parent, I only want my children to suceed in life. I give them the best advice I can, sometimes it may NOT apply to their situation.
Judge the advice on how it applies to your situation, and on how much respect you have for your parent's knowledge on the subject, against how much you can just blindly trust what they say, based on your love for them.

yeap, now that I'm mom I realize that u love your kid and u want the best for him or her, so u will allways tell her or him to do what u think is best. So at least listen to parents is important, u can get many good unselfish advices from them, that u may not from other ppl

typically it is. your parents have, more than likely, been through far more than you have. therefore they have a better understanding of the consequences and repercussions of certain actions. in general they will look out for your best interests, but in the end you have to make the final decision.

Its just a suggestion, but anything that would put you in harms way, I'd say no. Besides they are learning something new everyday, that might be from your mistakes.

No, but it will make your life easier.

They have lived through it and they are trying to help you so you don't have to go through the struggles they went through.

Parents might seem like they are bossy....but they are trying to make it easier for you than they had.
