i am 18 going to college my parents are hesitant to get me a cell phone ? what to do i will be commuting to school?how to aproach them?i quit my job cause my dad does not want me to work and go to school any money i made went to bank or to help pay for books?driving me crazy!its really inconvient!

I think it's important for everyone to have a cell a phone, especially a young girl like you who will be going to college. What if you were stranded some where and there was no pay phone to call and get help or your car breaks down. You need to have that phone in case you run into an emergency. It's a necessity!

Hi tell them you really need it so you can get help in case of an emergency. Or so you can easily contact them and they can contact you. If they are worried about a high bill tell them you would accept a pre paid phone where you buy the minutes up front.

tell them that your 18 and you would need to support yourself by yourself and that you won't be able to depend on them all the time u going to college buy it yourself. I'm 15 and got 2 cell phones already
