without a doubt he should. for anyone who has been to the hall of fame it only takes a second to see that while the quality of the players is great, the quality of their characters is sometimes quite low. Anyone who knows baseball knows its full of dark moments and some real degenerates. I feel baseball is about what you do on the field. While there is no excuse for Rose's gambling he still put in 110% all the time. I'd rather see him than anyone of the steroid using players get in any day.

Pete Rose is the epitome of how every baseball player should approach the game. He was the last in a great line of players who played the game at full speed all the time and played wide open. He was an amazing player to watch and I modeled myself after him when I played all my life. He has the most hits of all time and is up there in the tops of other major categories. He has something that most players don't have, and that is "heart". Most of the players today don't know what that is. Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame..No doubt! He might have bet on baseball and lied about it for years, but I believe he never bet against his team or did anything to help his team lose! He loved to win too much to do that and anybody that knows anything about him knows that. Baseball have been my whole life since i was 7 and if he never makes it to the Hall of Fame, I might never go to Cooperstown to see it. So, Bart Giamatti,Bud Selig, and anyone else who doesn't believe he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame can kiss my a**!!!

Pete Rose should be in the Hall-of-Fame. Until he is -- there really is no HOF that matters.
Baseball just keeps shooting itself in the foot and this is one thing they could do to win back the paying public.
People that say he shouldn't be in because he "broke the rules" are crazy. The rule he broke -- gambling on his own team -- was not a reason to be excluded from being in the HOF until baseball changed the rules to exclude Pete specifically.
To do that is like you were driving your car and you got a DUI and you paid your fine and did the things that violation called for -- and then the law is changed that also revokes your ability to drive. To do this AFTER your violation and the penalty you paid was all over just would not happen. Except in Pete's case with baseball.
I'm not saying let Pete back in baseball. I'm saying he should be in the HOF.
If you keep him out because he was a bad guy -- then Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Mickey Mantle and many others have to be removed from it as well.

Yes I do .I mean he said he did it he didnt say it was somebodys else that did it or it was drugs like most players or famous people say ,He didnt say it was drinking or drugs that made me do things to do or somebody made him do it or say he is a victim of a disease .He paid a lot to the irs he went to jail and there were even people who thought he should not go to the his own sons games. How much does this man have to do before he is allow to be like and allow in the hall of fame.He then say he did bet and still the people in the media still and the man in charge of baseball still think he should not even be in the hall of fame I dont get it we live where anybody that does worst things then pete but yet as soon as they say they are sorry they are like by everbody but not him.I will say this if people show there feelings on tv that is your feelings if pete had tears in his eyes and say he was sorry he would be in there next day he would

Absolutely! I believe he had deal with A.Bart.Giamantti,and when he died, so did Pete Rose's chances of getting in to Cooperstown. He's the all time hit leader. He is the quintessential baseball player. He was called Charlie Hussle for a reason.
Put him in the Hall, and if you want to put a mark on his plaque referring to his suspension. Fine. But put him in there.
As i understand it Pete Rose gets 70% of the vote every year, as a write in. It's to bad baseball refuses to listen to the writers and fans.

no way! he broke a major rule in baseball. he knew he didn't suppose to bet on baseball games! then he lied about it. he was a great player who should have made it in the hall of fame. MLB didn't keep him out, he kept his on self out!

Nope.
You break the rules, you pay the price. He is a big boy, he knew what he was doing. He figured he'd get away with it because of his name.
No one is bigger than the game.
