It could be nerves or a bit of both nerves and excitement together, but whichever is the case, after you've been at it for a while it will pass.

I am a driving examiner for the driver license division. Even people who already know how to drive (and have been doing it for years) get nervous just taking a test. Its normal, just relax. And remember, even if you make a mistake, rarely is it something that cant be fixed.
Driving is a big deal, and its a rite of passage so to speak. So of course you feel a lot of nervousness doing it. You'll be fine! Just be safe.

Have some one drive you to a large parking lot, preferably empty. Take the car and drive it for one hour, park, turn, back, brake, etc. Get very familiar with all aspects of driving. Accelerating, braking, turning, backing, parking. Do this before every driving lesson and your anxiety will be gone soon.

Slow down at every intersection and pedestrian walkways and look both ways even if you have a green light or right of way. It's okay to be nervous as long as it doesn't make you drive erratic.

Focus on the road and you'll forget about the nerves.

Yes, everyone gets nervous for the first few lessons. You soon get used to it and you'll become a lot more confident.

of course...you are being reviewed...you are being tested...and if you have friends that drive..well you do not want to fail....even if you are a great driver people still have fear...
take a deep breath and do your best...the more nervous you are the more chances there is for error...
you have the ability to have control by telling yourself you are just going to do your best....and do not worry ...worring can bring the mistakes...fear can bring misstakes... if you know the car and the rules of the road...study your book..you will do fine...they are really concerned about if you know the road safty...
you will do great...
and this to shall pass...

:)

Yep, all the time. But it's the test that scares the sh** out of me
Probably has something to do with the fact that I've flunked it twice.
