Considering a relocation, and wondered what the general opinion would be in a choice between these four Texas cities.

Considerations include:
-Cost of living
-Crime rate
-Things to do (entertainment)
-Music scene (rock)
-Regular stop for major concert tours
-Job market / top industries
-Best areas to live in each
-Crime rate
-Quality of life

All "legit" info & opinion welcomed..

Definitely Austin..... I lived in Austin for 3 years and I am soooooo desperate to go back, and if it wasn't that I had to relocate to another city, I would have never moved. When it comes to cost of living, it is very reasonable, it is very safe-unless you live in an area called riverside... we kept most of our apartments, cars and so forth unlocked and didn't have to worry about it... it is a great place to raise a family considering that the school district is one of the best in the U.S... the job market prefers IT and engineers but it's not hard at all to find a job and the salaries do not make you feel like its endless... The quality of life is just sunny,,,people are friendly, its basically a city with a small town atmosphere... everyone is saying hello to everyone, downtown 6th and the warehouse district are great places to go and chill out at night, there are always diverse events going on, great parks and rivers..... what else do you need.......oh! and the best thai restaurant on GUadalupe streettt, near the university of Texas "Madam Mam's"... DO NOT MISS IT... However... I would never recommend Houston... it is an industrial town, crime rate is high and between construction and unfriendly people... you will be constantly confused.......... Austin is the best of Texas, it is also the music capital, so live music is part of its aura... to relocate I would recommend it, and San Antonio coming close, I would only go their for weekends or to enjoy seaworld............ Wish you luck

No doubt about it, Austin is the place to be. General quality of life is far better in Austin than in the other three.

Good luck with your move.
