Even though he was a I-AA player, Steve McNair was unbelievable in college. He finished 3rd in the 1994 Heisman voting. Can you believe that ! A I-AA player who came in 3rd!!!! That year he could run an throw at will. I actually had the priviledge of watching him in his last college game against the Jim Tressel couched YSU Penguins. McNair had pulled a hamstring the week before and couldn't run at all, so he was forced to sit back in the shotgun all game and just throw. It was 10 degrees with a 40 mph wind whipping across the field. McNair was taking the snap and throwing 15 yard outs on a frozen rope. That's about a 40 yard throw into a 40mph wind on a line. Never seen anything like it. On that day I knew he would be an outstanding NFLer. I'm glad he won the MVP and I only wish Dyson had picked up one more yard so he could have won a Super Bowl.

whoever said : WOW David Carr are you serious????; you don't know much about college football. David carr only played 2 seasons but the team had a total record of 18-8 under his leadership. In those 2 seasons he threw for 7,849 yards and 70 touchdowns .

The best college quarterback was doug flutie. I'm pretty sure he is the NCAA's all-time passing leader. I'm not sure how many yards he has but i think it's around 10,000. Vince Young can't hold a candle to that.
