I feel your pain :) It sucks, doesn't it!
I not only had it on my face, but my chest, back and arms. I felt like a big grose monster ... needless to say that kids called me every name in the book. I went through a very suicidal period due to this ... how awful is that!
Anyway, now that you know you're not alone ... here's what I did and do everyday ...
First off, forget all about the zit creams that cost a fortune. Forget the doctor too. They're all about making money and make more of it if you keep coming back.
#1. And I'm sure you've heard this before, but it's a MUST. Drink water, and plenty of it. Don't worry about avoiding chocolate and all that jazz .... just drink lots of water.
#2. Buy a cheap bar of either Basic or Cetaphil soap. No fragrance, no nothing ... any of these will work ok. Just don't buy anything with acne treatment or fragrance in it. Wash your face lightly with this every night (don't scrub) and rinse with very warm water. I hold the hot rag on my face as long as I can stand it. This opens the pores.
#3. Follow up with witch hazel (cheap, find it next to the alcohol/peroxide). I use cotton pads for this. Best thing about it ... it doesn't burn!!! It's very refreshing ... use as much as you like.
#4. PURE TEA TREE OIL .... this stuff works miracles. Use it straight ... don't dilute. I get mine from Nature's Inventory ... it's an eBay store. It's half the price they sell it for at a drug store. (If you want to start right away , get a small bottle from a local pharmacy, then order more online for later). Pour a little on a cotton pad and smooth it over your face after the witch hazel dries. It not only dries up the acne, but it actually reduces the appearance of scars. It leaves your skin so soft and smooth, you won't believe it. It does NOT leave your skin oily. (Take care around your eyes.)
I NEVER wash my face in the morning ... I just splash with warm water (to wake up) and pat dry. Over washing can irritate your skin and make you crazy!!!!!
If you find your skin starts to dry out too much, the best moisturizer is cocoa butter. Acne hates it!! lol .... a cheap bottle from the dollar store will do. Shea butter is good too...
Good luck! Let me know if you have the luck I've had.

Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!
1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.
2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.
3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.
4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.
5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.
6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

I have tried all sorts of things to clear up my skin and the best, which also happens to be the cheapest, is Noxzema. I wash my face with the stuff every night and then reapply and leave on during the night. When I take my shower in the morning, all I have to do is rinse my face and it is as smooth as a baby's bottom. It keeps my acne under control very well. Hope you will try it and that it works as well for you.

Epicuren is the best! I've been using it for a year and my forehead hasn't seen a pimple since then. I have few breakouts elsewhere, but I think it is my fault because I'll go to bed and not wash my face. My pores have gotten smaller and most of my acne scars have faded.
Truly an amazing product and worth the money.

Your hormones are kicking in to turn you into an adult. Congrats. You evidently have a bigger package than most--be grateful.
Don't scratch. Wash gently but thoroughly several times a day. Sponge with alcohol to reduce infections but lightly coat the areas with vasoline afterward to keep moist.
Acme is NOTHING but clogged pores. You are producing a lot of skin oil as a result of the hormones. Think like oil and dirt and work very carefully over and over each day. Expect several years of this.
But DONT POP the swellings. You will end up with scars if you do.
And expect this to happen to nearly everyone else if you are one of the early ones.
Cleanliness. Always work at cleanliness.

have you tried the Nature's Cure? you can get it at any drug store like savons or longs. when i was younger i use to get acne in my forehead a lot, i tried all the soaps and creams and nothing helped. when this just came out, i tried it and believe it or not but it woudl completely clear out my face all the way!! it even enhanced my cheak skin tone even though i never got pimples there and evened out my face in color. the box you buy lasts for one month, its 100% natural pills, you take one in the morning and one at night and you can apply the cream on top of the pimples and it dries them up completely. it begins to take action around the second week adn then after the one month is over you have to buy another box, it costs about $10 but it works!! at least it did with me. even till today out of all of the 10 billion boxes i had probably bought years ago, i neverd finished the cream bottles so till this day whenever one little pimple pops up i apply teh cream and even though im not taking the natrual pills, it still works in dryhing them up.
oh and also, the cream also fades out blemishes. even when i get a little scar on my face out of a pimple or whatever i apply it and helps it fade out quicker, not kidding.
try it!!

Sunshine. get as much as possible. UV rays sterilize everything.
Also, was your face with alchohol or acetone before sunning, it dries the skin instantly.
