Most of the people I've surveyed in the office think Friday is best. Johnny thinks it's Thursday or Tuesday though. He's totally looking on ask.com right now.

Friday at noon or afternoon coffee break. tell them they get paid for the balance of the day ...

coming in Monday morning to get fired first thing is a waste of time, but if you really want to hurt the x employee it is a best time.

mid week firings cause way more bickering unless the employee does something really goofee and can be terminated on the spot.

Friday. We had someone in our office fired on a Thursday and it was horrible. The next day everyone was very upset and things were said and done that were later regretted. If we had a weekend in between, we could have calmed down before Monday and it would have been better.

I don't think there is a best day of the week to get fired, but I would think Monday so they have the rest of the week to find another job. If they got fired on Friday they couldn't really do anything to get help until Monday.

I would say not Friday. Right after a paycheck would be preferrable. On Payday, maybe. Just to give them time to realize they're not getting another paycheck, don't squander this one.
