Oh, yes, indeedy! When I was young. A good cheese; I loved it. It was processed American cheese. It made the best baked macaroni and cheese.

I have eaten government cheese all my life. I also used to distribute it for the CAP agencies by the truckload. The cheese is good if stored properly. It's shelf life is greatly diminished when it is left out in the heat. Must always be kept cold. I only wish that we still could get it here.

my boyfriend has, he said it was the worst cheese ever, worse than american cheese, it's more chemical than milk.

Yes, as a child we were on welfare for a bit. If I remember correctly it's waxy and huge but I was thankful for it.
