I've tried so many of the home waxing kits and none of them have worked for me. I have had to go back to the professionals. What they told me is that my hair is so fine the home kits have a hard time holding on to the hair. I don't know if this is the same problem you may be having.
But if the only issue is that you miss some hair the first time, don't worry, even the professionals have to go back and get some stubborn strays.
The best at home kits that I have used though are the ones that you actually have to heat the wax and apply the strips separately, not the ones where the wax is already on the strips. Sorry I can't remember the brand names.

It's the way you're pulling the strip. You're supposed to pull it horizontally and not wait too long to pull and not have too much wax on.Buy yourself a small wax heater,a can of wax,and some strips, that will work best for you.Don't have the temperature on too high, and only put on a thin layer, and put the strip on quick, don't let the wax dry.Go over your strip a few times to make the wax stick to the hairs, then pull horizontally, then yell ouch!:p After you're done use a wax remover lotion(I use gigi, smells like coconuts, and removes waxes really well). That's it,easy isn't it?hehe Or if you can afford it,go to a professional, and make sure they get all the hairs. And your hair will take longer to grow back, some might not even come back after a while versus when you use nair like products.

It is best for you to have the waxing done professionally at a salon. Once you have watched carefully how they do it, then you can try at home. It takes a lot of practice and beauty therapists have to study theory as well as practical before they are qualified. It may look easier when an expert does the job. I would recommend a warm wax home kit, preferably with wax that is water soluble so that if you get into a mess you can easily wash off the wax with water. If you still have problems then leave it to the professionals.

(Personally I like Nair better than Veet.)It is good if you prepare your skin before waxing. Veet wax strips works just fine if you:
1. give your legs a good peel in the morning and do not use lotion or cream on legs this day.
2. warm wax strips by increasing friction between hand and thigh - you know rubbing it so it gets warm.
3. make sure hair is longer than 4 mm - stroke hairs in a downward direction.
4 put on one wax strip - stroke it downwards - leave on for some seconds before tearing it straight off from bottom. No hesitation...
I hope it works for you...

DON'T use Sally Hansen stripless wax (I can't think of exactly what they call it but you supposedly don't need strips). I tried it and it wouldn't come off. I had to basically scrape it off and I had to do it so hard that it left scars. Nads gave me a rash. I would suggest Nair wax. Never had a problem with that.

Try nair Waxing roll, it is easy to apply. But for better results, instead of completely doing it on ur own it is advisable to take help from some of ur friend.

try hair removal lotion :
nair & veet
you can buy them at most pharmacys, drug stores, and grocery stores.
another option is a machine that you can plug into the wall. you run it over your legs like a razor while its on, and it plucks the hair out your legs. almost just like waxing. i bought mine a target. not sure on a brand though.
