In mathematics and physics, chaos theory describes the behavior of certain nonlinear dynamical systems that under certain conditions exhibit a phenomenon known as chaos. Among the characteristics of chaotic systems, described below, is sensitivity to initial conditions (popularly referred to as the butterfly effect). As a result of this sensitivity, the behavior of systems that exhibit chaos appears to be random, even though the system is deterministic in the sense that it is well defined and contains no random parameters. Examples of such systems include the atmosphere, the solar system, plate tectonics, turbulent fluids, economics, and population growth.

The theory that you speak of is maybe random...the difference is described here http://members.fortunecity.com/templarser/random.html#

Chaos theory essentially states that very simple events can cause extremely complex and unpredictable results.

Essentially Chaos theory is pure mathematics, but it applies to many real-life systems.

The basic idea is that it applies to systems which are mathematically very sensitive on their initial conditions - i.e how they start off, such as the Weather. Weather systems behave in a theoretically predictable way but are highly dependent on initial conditions. Beyond around a week the system gets so complex that for our intents and purposes it becomes unpredictable.

The classic example is the so-called "butterfly effect" - the idea that the simple act of a butterfly flapping its wings in the Amazon could result in a Hurricane developing in Europe.

It's not really related to any statement of the "natural order of things" though.

Chaos theory aka the butterfly effect.

The smallest event can radically change the world...

Don't know if you can actually say it the way u put it tho.
