...and probably anything produced by DJ Premier, Pete Rock or Jay Dee (aka - J Dilla, R.I.P.)

As for some non-mainstream new-school stuff, I recommend:

- Little Brother (and damn near anything produced by 9th Wonder)
- Madlib (and his alter-ego Quasimoto)
- Ugly Duckling (especially the "Taste The Secret" album - hilarious!)
- MF Doom

As for R&B, I recommend:

Old-school (70's - 80's)...
- The Isley Brothers
- Earth, Wind & Fire
- Stevie Wonder
- Marvin Gaye

New-school (90's - present)...
- Boyz II Men
- K-Ci & JoJo
- Maxwell
- Musiq Soulchild
- Mary J. Blige

Have fun!

I will list some good artists for you b/c listing the songs would take forever.
The Roots, Goodie M.O.B., Slim Thug (from TX), Gangstarr, The Click (E-40's group before his solo stuff), Devin the Dude (from TX), Scarface (from TX), A Tribe Called Quest (A good album is: The Low End Theory), Redman (good album: Dare is a Darkside). Those are all really good, I wouldn't steer you wrong : )

Hmm...
Papoose - Alphabetical Slaughter [he raps in words alphabetically-pretty good]
Some Chamillionaire songs are pretty good, meaningful like his song 'Think Im Crazy' , a story line but has an interesting ending.
