Cartilage takes 6-10 weeks to heal depending on your body, and the piercing itself doesn't really hurt but it is sore afterward. I would just recommend not sleeping on it. Also I have never had a piercing bleed unless something was really wrong. If you keep it clean and don't change earrings too soon you should be just dandy.

No there isn't continual bleeding after they are pierced. Yes, the after affects are a little painful. They will be tender for about a month & it takes up to 6 months for them to heal correctly. If you are the type that tosses & turns at night I suggest you get one cartlidge pierced at a time. They only bump up when u either repierce it wrong or something like that. I suggest getting Titanium earrings. They are less likely to infect your ears then regular ones or gold plated ones

There isn't frequent bleeding, that's silly, cartilage has a lot less blood flow than does earlobe tissue. It does take a little longer to heal than a lobe piercing. The only thing that is painful afterward is if you sleep on it wrong or if it gets infected.

I did have my cartilage pierced, but took it out after a while, but not because it was infected or anything, just because I was over it, and it kept getting caught on my clothes when putting on a top or something over my head, and my pillow when I slept.
My ex had it done on both ears, and for him it was always infected, and he got bumps on the back of his ear.
I know quite a few people who always had it infected, or developed bumps over time.
Mainly I think the infection and stuff happen from it catching on things, or you bumping it when brushing your hair and stuff.
I say go ahead, I took mine out after a while, so can you if you don't like it or it causes too many problems...
It is a piercing that bleeds though.

I didn't think the after effects were painful at all. The only thing that was annoying was sleeping on it. That hurt for a few weeks. The only thing that you have to watch for are keloids, which are just skins growths. You're more like to get these if you're pierced with a gun. I have mine done twice so it isn't terrible.

It takes about 6 weeks to stop hurting. It is hard to sleep on that side and use the phone on that ear. If you don't like it it will close if you take it out soon enough after having it done.

Don't do it..I had mine pierced when I was younger and it never fully healed...it was always painful!!! Plus it makes it difficult for you to sleep normally...I would suggest against the idea. Get your belly button pierced instead!!!

Just make sure you don't get it pierced at the MALL. Go to a REAL tattoo/piercing shop any time you want to have your cartilage pierced.
