After starting the car two days ago, the check engine light came on. When I pulled over and stopped, I noticed it was idling very low. On the RPM, the need was hovering just above zero.
Normally, It hovers just above 1(000).

What is strange, is that, despite idling so low, the car does not stall out. Also, when the car is first started, it idles normally and after a few minutes begins to idle very low.

Any idea what's going on? Thanks for the help.

Ok...the OBD2 Code is P0135. my mechanic friend tells me it is either a problem with the O2 sensor, or the PCM, which I understand is the car's computer.

properly it fairly relies upon on which D16 engine it truly is. ability output degrees from ~one hundred-125hp. The D16 engine found on your Civic is a D16Y7 which pumps out 106hp @ 6200rpm, 103lb-feet of torque @ 4600rpm. for the reason that it truly is a 2000 Civic with some mileage less than its belt, you'll likely get smaller figures than that. That suggested, those numbers are not quite 'eyebrow elevating'. If the definition of crap ability it truly is a no longer effective engine? Than of route it truly is crap. maximum Honda 4 cylinders are not effective. pretty your Civic. Honda's purpose for the Civic changed into monetary gadget, no longer performance. yet i can say one aspect however. maximum, if no longer all, Honda engines will very last more than the motor vehicle itself. So it isn't crap.

it sounds like the IACV...(idle air control valve) is sticking/stuck. The best thing for that is to spray some intake cleaner into the throttle body, there is a hole on the side. It is common for it to carbon up! IACV cotrols the idle at all temperatures.

or take it to a Honda Dealer if not fimiliar with automobiles
