I would call your insurance company - just to be safe... I always allow relatives to use my car... but that's just me. You know your uncle better than anyone who would have an opinion on here, so 1st of all you decide. Your insurance company may cover him temporarily and/or may have a policy on drivers over the age of 25. I dunno how it is in Houston - I have family there, but while I was there I drove their car around town. Hope I've helped!

In Indiana, if he has your permission, it is okay. Insurance follows the car, so it's insured incase something happens. Assuming here that you have a comp and collision deductible ofcourse. If the uncle causes a wreck, the "wreck" will be on his driving record, but your insurance would pay for the accident. Possible for both of your auto insurance policies to increase because of that. So in other words, it's okay, but tell him to be careful. :) In case things are different in Texas, give your agent a call just to make sure.

A lot of insurance companies will not cover your vehicle if he is not on your insurance. You need to ask your company what the policy is on this issue. You DO NOT want to be financially destroyed if something should happen.

He has to have full coverage insurance incase he gets in a accident. Unless your full coverage will cover all drivers driving your car

if your insurance policy covers other drivers.. then you would be ok to lend it to him. or if his insurance policy covers other cars. if not then you could be at risk if he gets in an accident. better just to drive him.

It will be fine. If he wrecks the car it will still go on your insurance though. Think about it for a while.........
