The email about not using Exxon wouldn't work. All of the major gas companies share gasoline. Whenever a gas company has a surplus of gas they sell it off to another company. Exxon would just sell their gas surplus to other major and smaller gas companies. The major gas companies have more expensive gas because of their additives. Other than that, all gas at all stations is pretty much the same. The best answer to gas prices is alternate fuel sources. Americans aren't willing to give up their daily transportation to cut back on gas use. We will eventually have to have an alternate source in the future anyway. So I say we should start investing and researching alternate fuels that we can manufacture. Like fuel from corn.

Gas prices changes because of the supply. I dont think the gas prices are caused by the war. People think so, but they arent the only ones who carry the world's supply of oil. I would think driving certain cars can save you money and gas. Gas supply, not certain if its low or high. Prices, not okay when youre in a busy city! lol =)

i read in an email that if many people stop using the marathon and exxon brand, (since they are the leading gas company) then they will see that everyone is going somewhere else, so they will lower their prices, and every other gas station in turn will lower the prices, and then stop using those 2 brands again, and they'll lower their prices again and in turn, so will everyone else.

Yes, Gas supply is low
Price hike is OK. It should let us cut down our fuel cost. We should move towards better resources like hybrid cars. Carpooling should be started as a practice.

Development of alternative energy sources. Using wind, water and solar power to make fuel cells for our cars. Converting to ethanol or other non-oil fuels.

Big Oil has us used to high gasoline prices now, so they'll NEVER come down! Move closer to where you need to shop and work, and learn how to enjoy walking.
