Hey Mandy, you can use your same service. If you are using dial up, just hook up your lap top to any phone and do the same as you do with your home computer. You could then use your lap top in a different location. If you have broadband (cable/DSL) you can disconnect your modem from your home computer and interchange it with your laptop. If you want them both hooked up, you could run another line but you would need to run wires everywhere unless you want the two computers in the same room. Otherwise, you can keep your home computer hooked up and run a wireless connection to your laptop. That way you could use your laptop anywhere in the house. WIth any of these options you could use the same service provider account. Anyway, I was bored tonight so I hope you enjoyed all the thumbs up on your best answers, if you remember me, I owed ya. thanks...zzzzz......

If you already have an Internet service provider then you can just plug into a phone line if you were using dial up service or to the cable modem Ethernet connection or usb port. look at your high speed modem for proper connection cables. Buy a laptop with the newest processor highest CPU speed (1.8 Giga Hertz-and up)largest amount of ram available graphics card and possibly wireless card. If the sales man can't help you go somewhere else and find people who know. Also don't buy the first one you see shop around in adds and stores. Hope this helps you and remember SMILE IT ADDS TO YOUR FACE VALUE!!

If you are using a dial up account then you can use the same account, just not at the same time. For broadband the same applies unless you setup some sort of Internet connection sharing which is most easily done using a router.

If you are using a wired connection you want to make sure that the laptop has the right kind of plug, eithernet, modem phone line, or your wireless connection is compatable with the wireless device inside the laptop. As long as you have the capability to log on with the laptop it should be the same as your desktop.

You can use the same thing. But as it is laptop you may very well go for an wireless connection so that you can run around with it.

you can add any number of computers/laptops to your existing internet account. You just need a router to do so.
