Some players weren't with the horrible team they're on now, last season,so perhaps they have legitimate gripes.

Training camp hours and voluntary/involuntary status of the activities is negotiated into the CBA by the players union. As a result, since players have essentially accepted the terms of camps in their bilateral contract with the NFL owners, they have no legitimate gripe.

I don't agree that camps should be held in the sweltering heat. If baseball goes to the southern states for spring training I don't see why football camp shouldn't be held up north. Other than that I don't see where the players have any gripe. They get paid a lot of money to perform at a high level and too many of them think that to make it to the NFL is the reward that they can just sit back and live off of.

yes they get paid millions
yes they play a game for a living
but i understand their gripe solely from a football stand point. If any of you have ever played deep into a high school playoff season, you'd understand how much what you did back in July and August could kill you in December. Their real complaint is about being to dead for the end of the season. Understand it.

Think about the person they're complaining to also...they might make billions but he makes billions (the owners and their staffs)

Probably depends on the team. Players have died in training camp, although obviously not many, so I would say that's taking it a bit too far. Coaches have to walk a fine line between getting players physically and mentally prepared for the season, and not risking injury to them because teams have so much money invested in them.

There are both ways to look at it, myself play football now in School. Yes they get paid alot and are expected to do what there told and do what the coaches say and for the money they make there going to do it and there going to play hard. But the money they make has nothing to do with the practices, i know the practices you do in high school or collage for those who have played, Its easily 10X harder. and there doing this in July and its no easy, esp if you play for the Cardnals were you could be killing each other in 100 degree weather, i guarentee you if you guys got the money they made you would do it, but you wouldnt make it. So really you can say yes and no to this qustion its hard to say. Both you can agree with both sides based on what i said.

No, This is not the NBA, someone is going to put a shoulder into your knee and you better go to camp or that knee is gonna be weak and unusable for 8 months after game 1

It deffinetly relies upon on the participant. toughness isn't all psychological, its also about combating by ability of injuries and having a triumphing mentality. case in point AI decrease back interior the day changed into hard as nails. There are NBA gamers more durable than NFL gamers and vice versa. however, i'd imagine your ordinary NFL participant might want to be more durable than your ordinary NBA participant. Artest is an absolute beast, and in a strive against he might want to strive against without judgment of actual and incorrect. he's outfitted like Lebron; both of their primes, Artest might want to damage Sir Charles. i'd imagine Dwight Howard is the perfect participant who's more effective intimidating on protection than on offense. however, Kobe, Lebron, Wade, and Artest are all gifted on both ends of the court docket. i might want to really see the Cavs sweeping ATL, they performed with a hearth and starvation even as they dismantled Detroit.

They're in the NFL making millions, you can't complain in that situation. It's hard, but it's not hard enough to really complain making that much money. It's really hot though I know that for sure.
