Is there any specific structure? What is a personal reaction essay? Please don't answer if you don't really know about it. I don't want false alerts.

OK...Short and Sweet...all a personal reaction ESSAY SIMPLY is...is what you think of the book To Kill a Mockingbird. Stop hunting for an answer to something that is your own reaction to what you think of a book you read. Plainly enough, yes it has to be wrote in ESSAY form, but YOU have to READ THE BOOK and give your personal reaction from it. There is NO easy way out or cliffs notes. This is going to be what you think of a book you read and write what you think of it in an essay format. Well, what are you waiting for? Get to reading and then writing. This is so simple and sadly if you didn't read the book, THERE IS NO QUICK FIX!

A personal reaction essay is just opinion (or reaction) to whatever the topic is. Usually you were assigned to read a story or article or watch a video then react to it. This is your opportunity to draw on your own personal life experiences to react to the topic. There is no right format to my knowledge. I always liked the 5 paragraph style personally, but I don't think it is a rule.
Just write what you read/saw in paragraph one and if you liked it.
Then in the next 2 or 3 write about how you felt about it and why.
Sum it all up at the end and slap a bow on it, you're done.
They have to be the easiest essays you will ever write so don't stress about it.
Good Luck

A personal reaction essay generally consists of free-writing which can then be restructured to fit your writing style or the expectations of the professor. Pick a moment that had a major impact on your life, or something that impacted you greatly at that particular point in time, and just write your perceptions down. Leave nothing out while composing the rough draft; you can edit later.

Standard essays consist of 5 to 7 paragraphs with 3 to 5 sentences each. Take your notes, put them in outline form, and use your outline to form your paragraphs. if you have a freer thinking professor, ask him/her what specific structure he/she requires to see how much latitude you have and how much you can incorporate your original style.

Holy crud! "Personal..." what??? In my day, it was either an essay or a thesis. My kids were told to write something for school and then got ticked off at me 'cos I had no clue what they were talking about! The teachers today want the parents to help their children with their homework, but yet nobody seems to understand what's expected or how to explain what's expected!

a personal reaction essay is your reaction on something that has happened.....
for example if someone took away something important to you or stole something for you what would you do?
there is no specific structure unless someone told you to write it a a certain structure, such as a three chunk paragraph.
Did someone tell you to write a personal reaction essay or are you just wondering?

It is just a regular essay, but the source will be your own opinion. You can back up your opinion with other sources but it should be written down in your essay.
