I love my Civic. 1997 EX. 134K miles still get 40mpg. I just make sure I get my oil changed every 3 K miles. Still drives like a champ!

best for a compact car is the toyota corolla because they are reliable, cheap, and good looking.
For pick up trucks, it's the Nissan Titan because it hauls *** and it's very big outside and inside
For SUVs, The Tahoe would be best since they look good inside and out and have long lifes
For sports cars its the chevy corvette because it's very powerful and it has a smooth-ride with incredible acceleration while costing much less than the Italian or German cars.

Mazda3 - it's an affordable car and fun to drive. And it doesn't look cheap what else could you ask for? Edmunds editors awarded it best in class among Civics, Corrollas, etc.

Toyota Corolla. $2,000 cheaper than the Civic when comparably equipped, holds its value as well, and gets slightly better mileage.

Civic is 2nd.
