I read some of the young adult sci-fi/fantasy books are they are actually very well-written and the only thing to show they are for teens is the fact the main character is a kid. In fact, one of the magazines I read even call such books 'kid-ult' fiction. Among my favourites are novels by Anthony Horowitz and Eva Ibbotson and the Young Bond series. I also love Harry Potter but I don't class that as a kids' book but rather one aimed at both kids and adults hence why it is on both book shelves in the UK.

I also have to admit that I do enjoy re-reading some of my old Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton books. The latter are always a laugh because the characters are such Forties toffs that I wonder why I tolerated them back when I was a kid!

I still do on occassion. I read young adult books too. While it is under my reading level some of them have some really good plot lines. Also sometimes it is nice to read something that does not take all the much brain power to read but still be a decent read at the same time.
