I don't actually WANT anyone to have nuclear weapons, I'm just curious how we justify that WE get to have them when we have such a poor record of inavasions/use of force, and as for 'democracy' yeah that's a good one in the US?

First, you do no longer attack a united states that has nuclear weapons, no count if or no longer they are much less effectual than those you have. the possibility is merely too large. North Korea's acquisition of nuclear weapons has shielded them from any type of preemptive attack. If Iran is in a position to augment nuclear weapons till now somebody destroys their centers, they may well be evidence against attack. the alternative is real, too, however. Iran and North Korea will via no skill attack any nuclear-possessing or nuclear-allied u . s . by making use of actuality the possibility of nuclear conflict is merely too large. 2d, they sell them. North Korea sells all of its technologies. If Iran ever develops nuclear weapons, they probably will sell them too. it fairly is a a lot extra effective effectual threat to distinctive nuclear powers. in the event that they sell their weapons to terrorists, the doctrine of on the comparable time specific destruction will exchange into almost beside the factor. Terrorists do no longer belong to a minimum of one u . s ., or possibly one section. If terrorists have been to set off off nuclear weapons interior the U. S., the U. S. does no longer be in a position to justify nuclear retaliation against the country or international places the region the terrorists stay, by making use of actuality the alternative to coach those weapons exchange into no longer sanctioned via making use of the government. Even the conflict in Afghanistan is controversial, by making use of actuality the Taliban did no longer formally help Al Qaeda. And that conflict has introduced approximately fewer civilian deaths than a nuclear conflict could.

We invented nuclear weapons and the decision to use them actually saved lives in Japan. At the battle of Iwo Jima it was proven that very few Japanese would ever surrender. Since then, the US has proven that it has the restraint and prudence to have them. We haven't used them in 60 years. Most people in the world agree that nuclear weapons in the hands of muslim extremists would be catastophic for the civilized world.
