I assume that the professor is referring to the jewish people of Israel. It is unjust to punish ALL of the people of Israel for the actions of it's evil government and military. The professor's reaction is understandable though. Being as Israel is a democracy, it is likely that over 50% of the population supports Israel's jewish-supremacist aggression against innocent lebanese people. It is only fair, by the eye-for-an-eye principle (which, ironicly, the jews taut but few of them follow), that all people, israeli jews and otherwise, that support Israel's aggression against innocents, be killed via incineration, just as the israeli bombs incinerated innocent lebonese people.

If it is true he said this he hardly deserves a title like professor. A race does not deserve anything as a whole. Each person is an individual and, just as you cannot blame the entire German race for the holocaust you cannot blame the Israeli people, and punish them for the actions of a few. Even if all but one Israeli was responsible it would not be a justified thing to say. A newborn child just born into the conflict on either side has incurred no guilt and must therefore be spared along with all the innocents. You must always way a decision like warring for revenge in favour of the innocents if you are sane, unfortunately few leaders in the middle east (or the west!) would seem to be.

The man is wrong - it doesn't matter whether he is German or not, nor whether he is a professor or not. No peoples deserve to be hounded and exterminated because they do not agree with the dominant ideology or are seen as being alien to a nation.
Oh and P.S. Metacoma - Isreal did not exist until after the second world war ended. The Balfour Treaty/Declaration of, I think, 1947 or 1948 created the state of Isreal so to say that the Germans were trying to wipe out all of the Jews in Isreal is a bit wrong - but I do understand your meaning.

All the people of Israels should know that the Germans killed millions of them, but Israel is too coward to take the revenge from Germans, but why they are taking revenge from innocent women and kids of Lebanon by furious bombing what are they going to get out of it desrtruction .They should all think a better way to end this and work for peace, and live like a good neighbours

No one ever deserves to be butchered. Actually the Jews suffered a first not so well known holocaust at the start of the First Crusade. (1080ish). They never deserved that, nor the later one. No one does. Cruelty should not beget cruelty.

Do these people never learn? War after war we think that something will be learned but it never is. I don't know all the facts but maybe this comment was altered in translation. Whoever is in the wrong deserves punishment and I suppose they would deserve something...difficult to explain but I'm wondering if holocaust was used in the translation because he is german - you know what the newspapers are like...

It is never smart to use sweeping generalizations.
Because one coward flying an F16 bombs a building and kills a few dozen civilians does not mean that every body born in israel deserves to be butchered.
But a convincing case could be made for the trigger men themselves.
Because what ever your provication how do you justify taking actions which you know are going make 800,000 people homeless (sofar) and kill many thousands of inorcent people.
And why... because there are terrorist in that country..... jesus I bet they wouldnt bomb their own cities to flush out radicals.....

Does anyone deserve the Holocaust, did we learn nothing from the slaughter of six million Jews, how would we feel if it was our parents, children or friends going to the gas chambers, because we were different or people were looking for a common enemy, think about it.

I think that it was thinking in that perspective that started the fighting to begin with. Actually I know that it was. They wanted to wipe out all of the Jews in Israel. So, tell him that he is the most ignorant professor that you have ever had and that he should be ashamed of spreading such hateful messages to your ambeable minds.

The Israeli intense attack is being criticised as excessive, but who knows what the Israeli people actually think of the actions of their government? They may well not support it themselves? Although the government might need to be called into account once / if this is over, to exterminate the entire population seems a bit..er..extreme.
