Ipod shuffle have no screen, and it shuffles around the songs so you have kind of no control over what you want to listen to. Ipod nano is a smaller version of ipod video, it has a screen and has color but no video. Ipod mini has no color or video. Very simple and somewhat old. Ipod regular is the same, no color and simple. Newest and best is Ipod Video, comes with many features. With Video, color, screen, photos etc...

If you are shopping around for the best ipod deal. Go with the 30G Ipod video. Its probably the best deal you can get. The only thing nice about the nano is its size, but in ways it is too small and is quite fragile. The 30G iPod video goes for about $300 compared to the 4G Nano which is about $250. So you get and additional 26G for only 50 dollars. If you are really into music and have a lot of songs that you want to put on your iPod go with the 30G.

ipod video (regular) can play videos and you can fit up to 30 or 60 GB of videos, music, or files.
-ipod mini is smaller than the video or regular, and you can only put music files in, no color screen
-ipod nano is the smallest of the screen -ipods. You can get either the 1GB, 2, or 4 GB. You can put photos and music files in the nano.
-Ipod shuffle has no screen and it is really small. there's 512mb or 1gb.
----To me, I would prefer the ipod nano because of it's size, it's considered the smallest flash mp3 player. It also has great sound and it actually has a color screen. The video is good but not all video files are readable in the ipod video.

shuffle has no screen and you cant see what your listening to.
video ipod has video, while other ipods dont.
the nanos are diff. price because some are 1GB,2GB,or 4GB, so they hold diff. amounts of songs.
Ipod regular is just like plain.
but the prices mostly vary on the amount of songs the ipod holds, 4GB is 1000 songs, 2GB is 500, ect.

Okay, I'm not going to give you a big long answer on my personal view of the different iPods, because that would be a huge waste of my time. But I will give you this link to a full comparison chart of the available iPods at the Apple iPod Store right now. http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/images/ipod_compare_con.html Hope this answers your question!

The nano and shuffle are probably better if your exercise when listening. They use flash memory.
