I am looking to purchase a 2003 Lexus ES300. I have been burned before by used car repairs. I would like to compare the average repair cost on this vehicle to a 2004 Toyota 4 Runner.

*raises an eyebrow* Now that would depend on the type of repair done and the trim level of the car. If you have a Lexus with ABS and a 4 Runner with standard boosted brakes, the Lexus is generally going to cost more as they have the ABS to contend with. A 4 runner is going to cost more for some repairs, a lexus is going to cost more for some repairs. A good judge is to go to Autozone.com and look up common failure parts, such as the alternator, starter, ignition switch, shocks and/or struts, sway bar links, bushings, brake pads, rotors and drums, PCV valve, etc.

the lexus es 300 is a good vehicle with little repairs, the 4 runner is a high maintenance vehicle. always have the vehicle inspected for purchase before buying a used vehicle. if in california have a smog inspection done, the readings will tell you everything about the engine and the computor compontents.
