Eric Chavez is definitely not the best 3rd baseman in baseball.
Alex Rodriguez, David Wright, Scott Rolen and Chipper Jones are all better.

Either him or scott rolen are the best 3B in the league. I have always liked chavez, very good fielder and hitter, and if i remember correctly, hits pretty well off of lefties, which is an awesome thing for a left handed hitter to do.

Not even close. A-Rod may be struggling at the plate and in the field right now, but he is the best third baseman in the league, and arguably the best player in the league (although I say he's second to Pujols)

Actually, the best third baseman in the game today is AROD! I know that many of you Yankee haters will not agree, but look at the facts. He has TWO teams paying him to play. Can ANYONE else say that?

everyone keeps naming wright, A-Rod, etc. etc.- and all of you are right , but I'm disgusted that no one has mentioned zimmerman- the best all around 3B in the game- glove, hitting for average, power, and base-running----- steals and smarts on the pathes. his glove is second to none and thats saying something because wright is spectacular. Wright has the better bat but all around its zimmy.

HELL NO! best 3rd basemen ever is Brooks Robinson! right now its a toss up cuz A-Rod is struggling BIG time! if he gets his sh*t together he will be back to being the best.
