Get an injunction against him.

Report it to the police if he is harrassing, following you or showing up where you are. If he is stalking you, it is a crime and is punishable by law if you take the proper course of action. If he is the father of any of the kids that could complicate things but it depends on the situation. record phone calls, keep letters, get a camera system for your home. Get all the media type home protection you can. Like I have already described. If any of it is in any way threatening, you can use it against him in court and he can go to jail for it. But you also have to file a complaint and get a TPO (temporary protection order) or PPO (permanent protection order) against him first. then if he violates it in any way, you can use it against him. If he does not wanna go to jail, he will stop. If he does not care and your actions against him do not stop him then he will pay the legal price. You could always move too but I would do the other stuff first. The object is to remove him from the immediate situation so you can go away safely. Good luck! Hope this helps.
One other thought. If you can not afford an attorney to go the court route, there are legal services in most states for your type of situation that are way less costly than a regular attorney. Anyone in the court offices should be able to tell you who to call or your local state law board. Try calling your local court house and asking for Probate Court and ask someone in that office.

Is he the father of your children? Obviously, if he is then he should have contact with his child, but you should speak to your solicitor and ask them what you should do.

If not, then firstly you need to keep a record of every time he approaches you or telephones you.

Have a word with the local police and ask them what you should do about it. They should be able to have a word with him. Next stop is by talking to the Citizens Advice Bureau. They will be able to tell you how to get an injunction - and how to act on it!#

Restraining Order

2006-07-26 07:05:21 · answer #4 · answered by Mz Bee 3 · 0 0

by being very calm so that you don't frighten the children.

Keep a diary - this can then be used by the police and if necessary in court.

Inform the police of his behaviour.

Go to citizen advice and see if you can obtain a restraining order.

BUT please be careful - if he is behaving strangely make sure you can get out of your house if something happens, that all the doors are locked and he no longer has keys.

Good luck x x x

Go and see a solicitor and get out an injunction out on him, that will stop him being able to bother you. I had to do it with my looney ex and I also have 3 children

See a lawyer get a restraining order, document any violations of it and have him arrested if need be. Take a self defense course (call your local YWCA or women's shelter) buy a gun and learn to use it(call your local NRA chapter). I'm not kidding about any of this. Too many women lose their lives because they refuse to believe that the man they were married to, dated or whatever would really hurt them. You owe it to your kids and to you to protect yourself.

Get a restraining order (30 quid from the magistrates court).
At the very least it might scare him a bit to back off.

Stand up to him and tell him if he doesn't stop stalking you that your going to go to the migistrates office and file stalking charges on him. My x husband did the same thing to me. He tried denying that he was driving by my house and his friends. I finally told him that if he didn't knock of his **** that I was going to do something about it. After that he chilled out.
