Universal law, what comes around...goes around. These people are creating their own bad karma, and all we can do is shake our heads in disbelief and thank Goddess that we're not like that! Know peace & harmony in your heart, and don't let this stop you from speaking your own truths!
Blessed Be...

First off if you are fired for your religious beliefs you can sue the company. It is against federal law to discriminate due to race, religion, creed or sexual orientation. They judge because they fear. Who wants to be wrong? My advice is simple do not talk religion in the office anymore, if they bring it up simpy tell them that it is not appropriate to talk about something so personal in the office. If they persist change the subject. I am an initiated witch, I know what you are going through (even if it was just with my parents). Fortunately I am self employed and don't have the employment issue.
I too had to look for years till I found my religion. I was Catholic, buddhist, hindu, nothing, Lutheran, nothing, now a witch in the nroogd tradition. Don't stop looking or studying.

Oh by the way, if they continue to judge (and since they are christian) ask them when did they get god's job of being a judge?

I don't have enough patience to read what others have said, but if you get fired right after this you can take them to court!! That is called descrimination! All you have to do is write what happened down, the dates, and who was there to be in on this. It is especially rediculous because you were only talking about studying, but even if you were a full fledged, spell casting, cauldron stirring witch they can't fire you for that. Talk to a government agency that protects employees from this. I am so sorry you have to go through this.

If they fire you for this then you can sue them. You have freedom of religion and cannot be fired for this. There isn't anything wrong with studying different religions. I am Wiccan and I'm sure that if they did this to me I would sue the crap out of them! Tell them to go to religioustolerance.org and learn some tolerance of other religions. Just because your not Christian doesn't mean that you are not a good person!

It is not always about judging others most are just ignorant and uninformed, opinions a sad truth about our fellow human kind or is it unkind I was sorry to hear of your plight. I also have practiced Wicca for 30 years many are taught as young children that any-thing different than the rest is wronge or evil sad isnt it but we cant change the world, say a prayer for them and so-mote-it-be.

They cannot fire you! Equal Opportunity is just that! Like the others pointed out, you have every right to believe what you believe. America is built on the freedom of religion and the law was put in place to protect everyone from this kind of discrimination.
My advise to you, is to NOT talk about it at work. Period. Like politics, it is different for everyone. My husband and I never talk about politics, because we have different views. Religion is the same. Everyone is different.

I feel that is because people are not open-minded. I am a christian (baptist) and some other Christian-denominations I may not have the same view point on, i still accept them for it. I feel as if anyone believe that their is a high being, might it be Allah Jehovah God or whatever title, they mean LOVE, and acceptance of people of who they are. But back to the point their scared. Of what the do know, and ignorant of what they dont know. Wicca isnt bad, and the true meaning of Wicca deals with balancing nature right? If they fire you...SUE SUE SUE THEM! Your in America and you have the right to FREE RELIGION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a very good question. I am a christian (used to be satanist) and I got made fun of because of the fact that I was a satanist. Now that I am a christian I get made fun of still. I do not believe that other people should judge. This is not only wrong for humans, but wrong in the eyes of God (in heaven) So, I guess people make fun of things that they do not understand. This is really my only conseption.

Because sweetie as sad as it sounds it makes them feel somehow superior if they can down your beliefs. I don't down any ones belief. I don't think that anyone of us should just blindly believe in something. At least not without keeping an open mind. An looking at what someone has to show us with an unbiased eye. Good luck! I hope you have no further troubles!

People judge others to take their minds off their own inadequacies. They need to feel better,or more ethical than someone else. And to divert attention away from their own hypocracies, which everyone is guilty of.
Take what is good and useful and leave the rest behind.
