in Real Estate since the market is slow. I'm reverting back to my original plan of doing real estate part-time or as an investment tool. I get depressed everytime someone asks about work because I feel a bit of failure. I have accepted my decisions and have tried to move on, but recently have been in the hot seat at dinner tables about my work....and have fallen back to being depressed...how can i help myself to bounce back up and not let this affect me anymore...how can i accept myself...years ago i just would give a damm, what other people think...now that i have opened up my heart to many things...i care too much...ahhhh!!!! Can anyone give me some advice?

You have to get back to that "don't give a damn" attitude. It REALLY DOESN'T MATTER what anyone else thinks. Besides that, it's certainly not YOUR FAULT that the market is slow. My goodness, don't beat yourself up. Your not a failure!!!!

When they bring it up....either change the subject, tell them it's none of their business, or explain that business was slow and you felt that you shouldn't waste too much of your time in it.

Have a great day and don't let other people's opinions get to you. Life is imperfect and so are people....ALL people. =)

Man, you got to relax. Everyone has work troubles of some sort. Hell, how's work? It's not going too hot right now, things are a bit slow, but I'm trying to work on some advertisem, ent programs that might help things pick up.... Always work to improve what you have. You are more worried about the social aspect of it, and looking like a failure. Everyone fails,Bro - believe me, I'm an expert at failure. What I would suggest is to be a go-getter, and to do your BEST to get things done. Hell, in prison things are limited. You have people that get no money, etc. So the people I ran with in there set up a treasury. We worked our asses off. When I left that unit, we had approxmately $300-$400 in the stored and treasury, and all our Bros had their neccassities - we then started on the little pleasures:food, coffee, shoes, watches, shirts and shorts, et cetera.... If a convict can find a way, so can you. You got to think outside the box, and defeat the circumstances, dig?

You cant really get upset when you get asked a question like that, because at the dinner table, that is just a convo starter. Or the person may just be concerned about how work is... So you can just tell them that you don't work there anymore and that u are looking, you never know they may know of some openings... don't stress it, everybody hits bottom at least once, something better will come your way... Don't give up, or let this question get to you, cuz all it's doing is demotivating you....hold your head, you'll find something...

You need to be positive about your actions tell them you have taken early retirement....investigating whether you can start your own business any number of things, accept that you have no control over the market and that for the moment you are having an extended holiday and know that most of the people at the table will probably be envious....good luck!

Obviously, you derive pride from your work. I think this is a good trait to have. But it can feel awful when work insn't what you want it to be. I know. I have personally never liked a job. But I take them out of neccessity and am a senior in college so I can find a job that is dependable and fulfilling. You seem to have some job skills, but if you want to branch out to other areas, you may have to develop some more. At least, you have a working knowledge of how to use a computer.

When they ask you, just say "work is going exactly like I want it to" then change it around and ask them about their work.
They are not asking just to make you feel bad. It's a common conversation starter when they don't know what else to say.
If you are really down about your job status then get another part time job (something that you enjoy doing and don't mind going into work) or get a hobby. Try going to the gym on your down time or running or martial arts or dancing.
Good luck. Iv'e been there and done that.

your answer.

Work is going great now that I've delegated it to its proper place in life. as a part time enterprise to earn a living while I engage in more literary, musical, intelligent (fill in the blank here about what you ARE doing) tasks.

You see, some people work hard, some work smart. I prefer to work smart.

You've gotta find a new career path that you can be proud of so when people ask about your job you can proudly tell them where. You could also go back to school.
