The highest-paid Met that season was actually George Foster, who was paid $2.8m by the Mets, even though he was released on August 8th.

After Foster, the next-highest paid was Gary Carter at about $2.1m.

Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden hadn't been around long enough to demand big contracts, so they made $950K and $1.3m, respectively.
