I meant clearing my head and trying to put down the right words and the right steps. Keeping the interest there and then reeling them in.

Yeah...just start writing...brainstorming, free-writing ...anything and everything that randomly comes out...it should help get your creative juices flowing.

This is something that I do when I have writer's block. I think of a few topics that I am interested in or would like to learn about and make a popcorn. All a popcorn is, is, Your topic is in the middle and you would draw a circle around the topic. Then you would think/research some things about the topic and draw a line from that and write the topics name and if you can think of things that involve the topic draw another line and write the topic and so forth.

Writer's block as in no ideas or writers block as in you think every idea that comes to your head sucks.
First kind I usually pamper myself or take a long hot shower with a lot of armoatherapy.
Second kind. Write every idea down and set it aside. IT might sound bad right now but maybe later it won't.

Here are some ways i get myself out of writers block:
1: visit the bookstore, maybe even the section where your book would be.
2: talk to someone about what you are writing. get excited about it again.
3: read a favorite author or novel, that gets me in the mood to write my own book.
Good luck to you!

Additionally, clear your work area from all distractions. No loose papers, memos, books, newspapers or magazines. Turn off the phone, radio and TV.

I usually get up and do something else. If you can, sleep on the problem too. I tend to work out things in my sleep and come back completely refreshed and ready to write.

go outside and walk away from the situation. you need to clear out your head and staring at a computer screen or sheet or paper is going to do just the opposite.

Go out and do something fun like dancing or go to the movies. Don't think about it so hard and the words will come to you.

a glasss of pinot grigio or Carbanet Savignon, while sitting on my balcony or in the tub ususally does it for me . basically anything you can do to unwind for about 20-45 mins is usually helpful.
