My boyfriend has his arm tattooed (a sleeve), It is very colorful and nice. He also wears his hair shaven. Mostly in public places he gets stares or comments. It doesn't bother him or me. But why do people pass judgement on appearances?
Little do these people know, that he has a full time job and is very successful. Not a drug addict or criminal.

Because people are stupid. they still think tattooed people are in gangs, ride motor cycles etc. My co workers are shocked when they see my ink. I am college educated from a prestigious university and have a great job.

People pass judgment on everything. Don't worry about it. I personally look or stare when I see tattoos because I like them. I have one and want another. I don't think anything negative about it (unless maybe if it 's a tattoo of something bad, but I don't know). In any case, my opinions are for the most part good. But either way it doesn't matter. If he chose to get a tattoo, let him enjoy it, and don't let people bother you.

Yes I agree, some of the nicest people I know have tattoos. They do the same thing to me, I have scars on both of my arms that are in plain view, and believe me I get stared at quite a bit and I get a lot of questions too.
