Others raise a good point about you being concerned with sin and not being a Christian. I am a Catholic and would suggest that you do go to a church and confess your sins. The only person in my mind that can forgive sins is GOD. In looking at someone else comment, we can not forgive our own sins. The forgiveness of our own sins by us has no spiritual significance and creates a slippery trap of allowing sin to keep happening again and again. Jesus saves, God forgives and a priest acts as the vehicle for Gods forgiveness. I go to the priest and confess and absolve my sins. It is a renewing experience.

The concept of sinning was invented by the church to manipulate their crowds.
In fact, there is nothing that you can do to "erase" your "sins" {which I interpret to be bad actions that you took against others}. All you can do is try and make amends and above all learn from your mistakes. "Confessing" your "sins" to a priest will not take them away. If you have a conscience {and it looks like you do} just learn from your mistakes and do better in the future.

Don't wait to go to church to be forgiven for sins because God is omnipresent. If you are sorry for your sins acknowledge to God you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you. Follow the instruction written in the new testament book of Romans 10:9 "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved. Afterward go to a good christian church to learn how live free from sin.

Whatever you have done that you consider a sin, do it no more. If you can do this, then time will make the memory of your sins more bearable. If you continue not to sin, someday you will forgive yourself and you will be at peace with yourself.
As to God and church and religion, I'll let the experts advise you.

make a commune with your soul, because you are the one who sinned, and you are the one who can forgive your sins, realise this you create your on hell on earth, and to live in guilt based on sins you commited is your hell, so forgive yourself, and then others will forgive you, including god, you are but a child to him, and he sees you pain that you are creating, so to forgive yourself and go on from that point, and allow yourself to be forgiven, also you dont need to be christain to feel sin, just a moral fiber, I to am not christain, but I consider myself knowledge, accepting more knowledge, so I know alittle about alot, and as jesus says, Be perfect, an I feel to do so you must want to be prefect......I hope that makes since

For those saying you cant forgive your on sins, there probably the same people who said Jesus cant forgive sins, people establish the concept of sins, all Jesus said is I forgive you, and they got up and walked, and not because hes the son of god, Im the son god, just because they believed in him enough, which meant they believed in themselves, which meant when he said I forgive you, sent a power greater then anything else through that persons body and made them walk, they forgave themselves.
Also I belive Jesus was Just a vessel of the Christ essense, which we all have, this christ essense can also be called the holy spirt, or our comforter, it is what has established a balance in this world, and it spains across time, breaking chains of our existence, and creating a new order of things, so without it I would probably be slave, so I understand it a a break in time

All you have to do is pray and ask for forgiveness for your sins. God says that if you do that, your sins will be considered as far as the East is from the West (forgotten)
