This is a tough one. What you do have onyour side is TIME. The college you are applying to may ask you if you've been academically dismissed.
However, either during an interview, or in your essay, you have a chance to explain what you've been doing in the past seven years, and how that has now prepared you to be a sucessful college student. Colleges do understand that some students are just not ready for academic courswork. Now it's your chance to prove that you are ready.
I've had a similar experience myself, and I found that the essay was the key to getting back in. Don't hesitate to contact an admissions counselor at the new college as well.
If that Doesn't work, your other option is to see if you can enroll in evening classes or through a depertment of continuing Ed. for a semester... A lot of schools will let you matriculate into the regular day program if you prove yourself for a semester in a continuing ed (evening) program.
I hope this helps!

Definitely can. Just be certain to be honest on your application about the reasons why you were dismissed from your former school. Also, it might be wise to include a personal statement or letter with your application indicating what you've been doing since you were dismissed from the former school and why you're a different person today than a few years ago.
Your former school will send your official transcript to any new school, and that transcript will probably include a notation about your dismissal. Be honest and you'll definitely be accepted somewhere...good luck!

You will have to find a University that will accept you on academic probation. When I left after my Freshman year I had a 1.6 GPA. I got admitted to another University 5 years later, after a stint in the Navy, and they let it be known that I had one year to get my grades up. I retook many classes from my freshman year, and I got a B.S. with a 3.42 GPA and ended up being in Who's Who. I finished my MBA two years later, and am now 24 hours from my PhD. Sometimes leaving college and growing up a little can add a whole lot to perspective.

yes you can still apply to another university even if you were dismissed or expelled by your former school as long as you have the necessary papers like transcript of grades etc.issued and certified by them. And of course subject to the qualification that you meet up with the standards of grade of the new school for transferee like you. some of your subject in your former school maybe credited in the new school of your choice.
goodluck and don't lose hope you can still enroll

i'm an English considerable at a small "liberal arts" college college. i'm a mature pupil; I had to bypass lower back to college. i do no longer even care what they think of approximately my GED; I handed in the 99th percentile on each situation yet math; i did no longer even end junior extreme - yet i'm keen to guess i'm the psychological equivalent to any MBA available. i do no longer supply a s*** what all people thinks of my considerable - i be responsive to a variety of of fellows my age who in basic terms take a seat on their a**es and by no ability improve everywhere, least of all intellectually. i could be somewhat previous due in the coaching branch, yet a minimum of i'm keen to put in the attempt and time to recovering my strategies. a great variety of the degree-holders available can somewhat spell - by no ability strategies placed a functional sentence at the same time, like a pair of MBAs i've got met. this is exciting that lots of the cons available think of that there is a level software in balloting Democrat, or in my case (Canada), balloting Liberal. i've got had to artwork stressful at my classes, and artwork on the comparable time, some thing that a great variety of cons available do no longer seem to understand.
