Is underpowering the equipment bad for the converter.
The speakers require 15 volts 1.1 amps.

I'm able to get 1 amp 12 volts. Or even 12 volts 1.3 amps.
I'm pretty sure over powering amps will kill a person faster then over powering volts. But I don't know how this works with supplier vs demander.

underpowering it will be fine. You will not get the full sound capabilities of the speakers though. This however is good since your speakers will last longer now

Volts push amps through the resistance they encounter, if there's enough volts. Too many amps flowing through a device, and poooof! It's gone!

Underpowering a light bulb will make it last longer but underpowering a motor will destroy it.
