I too have common law hubby of 7 yrs. No ring No marriage. Everyone is different you have to ask yourself is he worth waiting for? I had a big problem with this same issue not that long ago, but like you I know he wants to marry me....so I did alot of soul searching and decided he is worth waiting for. I know in time we will be married in the laws eyes, and we are married in our hearts. It will happen wait and see.

Go for it its the thought and the gesture towards marriage that counts more than the ring. You all can get married at city hall now and than next year on your anniversary get the ring and have a really big ceremony thats what me and my fiance are doing.

If he's good enough to live with for four years, then he should be good enough to marry. If he wants to get married, tell him you'll give him your answer when he makes a formal proposal. Good luck.

Sorry, but if you need the opinion of strangers on this one with no other information than you have given, it sounds like a terrible waste of time. Yours and his.
